Immersion blenders are small, wand-line appliances which slice, dice, and blend solids and liquids inside various containers. They are useful for blending inside a mixing bowl, pot, pan, or even a cup. Not as powerful or useful as any of the other types of blenders available in the market, these small machines are, however, perfect for the person with a very small kitchen space.

I do not recommend using this type of blender to create foods aside from very basic and liquid-based dips (such as a sour cream-based dip). They are especially useful for mixing and blending drinks or creating salad dressings.

Breville Control Grip Immersion Blender

The Breville Control Grip Immersion Blender features a sufficiently strong 280-watt motor and comes complete with an 8-inch blending attachment, a whisk attachment, and a double-bladed chopping bowl.

This blender features a rather unique design from top to bottom. Its handle/wand has been designed with grooves to fit fingers and thumbs, neatly locking your hand into place for maximum grip. It also features a trigger-like power button which allows you to cycle through 15 speeds using only the hand which regularly holds the entire appliance; this leaves your other hand free to hold the pot or bowl you are using.

The blending attachment has been uniquely designed to work faster and with less energy, as it does not require suction but instead utilizes ridges built within the circular encasement to push food toward the spinning interior blades.

Conair Cuisinart CSB-75BC Hand Blender

The Conair Cuisinart Smart Stick immersion blender is available in an incredible 11 colors, including white, red, yellow, pink, chrome, lime, charcoal, metallic red, pink champagne, watermelon, and white pearl. The handle/wand of this blender is comfort-fitted to the size and shape of most hands. It is thick and features both finger and thumb grooves to enhance your grip.

It features two speeds for liquefying and chopping, though it does not include a chopping cup attachment. It comes with a BPA-free, dishwasher safe beaker for measuring and mixing. The 200-watt motor built into this blender is among the weakest available in immersion blenders on today’s market, but should be able to handle basic tasks such as chopping soft foods, mixing liquids, and liquefying soft foods.

Cuisinart Smart Stick Plus Immersion Blender

The Cuisinart Smart Stick Plus is a cordless immersion blender meant to bring ultimate versatility to your kitchen. It is just as versatile as most other immersion blenders in that it incorporates a blending attachment, a whisking attachment, and a double-bladed chopping bowl to meet all of your immersion blending needs.

This blender does not feature a cord, which means less tripping and knocking things over in the kitchen. You need not worry about melting cords over the stove when mixing hot soups with this hand-held blender. The power source can be removed from the wand with the simple click of a button and plugged directly into the wall.

Unfortunately, the battery pack makes this model quite heavy and difficult for weaker people to maneuver. The 20 minutes of battery life is quite long enough for most people, but may not be adequate for some others.

Hamilton Beach 2-Speed Hand Blender

The Hamilton Beach 2-Speed Hand Blender features a somewhat weak 225-watt motor. Though the motor will not be able to perform the tasks of a countertop blender, this hand-held device is able to tackle most basic blending tasks without struggling. Included with the purchase of this stainless steel blending wand are a blending attachment, a whisking attachment, and a chopping bowl.

The blending attachment is designed to mix liquids and solids inside of bowls or pots and can break down small chunks of food in the process. The whisking attachment extends this blender’s abilities to include creating perfectly whipped cream, batters, and meringues. The chopping bowl allows you to utilize a large-bladed rod to chop anything from fruits and vegetables to nuts and legumes.

KitchenAid 3-Speed Hand Blender

The KitchenAid 3-Speed Hand Blender features a 200 to 250-watt motor capable of completing most basic immersion-blending tasks. It comes complete with power wand, blending attachment, whisking attachment, chopping bowl, beaker, and a canvas storage bag.

The attachments are stainless steel, dishwasher safe, and measure approximately 8-inches in length, meaning that they can easily reach into deep bowls and pots. The power cord is an impressive five feet in length, allowing you to easily move from one area of your kitchen to another without worrying about unplugging and plugging back in. The wand features a silicone soft grip, no-slip handle which allows you to achieve a comfortable and firm grasp.

Ovente Robust Stainless Steel
Immersion Blender Set

The Ovente Robust Immersion Blender sets itself apart from other blenders in its price range on the basis of its high-power motor and additional features. Its 300-watt motor is near the top of the range for hand blenders and is bound to prove itself as both strong and durable as it powers its various attachments through impressively difficult tasks.

This system comes complete with a double-bladed chopping cup, a 16 ounce beaker with measurement lines, a blending attachment, and a whisking attachment. Possibly the only real downside to this blender is that its attachments cannot be released easily with the push of a button – they must be twisted on and off.
