Who am I and why am I making this website about blenders? I mean, seriously, who makes a website about blenders? Well, chances are that I’m not as crazy as you think I am. In fact, chances are that I am lot like you. I’m someone who wants to a live a healthier lifestyle to build a healthier and happier me. I also want to bring health and happiness to my family.

I grew up in the generation of junk food. I came from a family with two working parents who struggled to make ends meet and pay our monthly bills. My mother was a wonderful chef and my father was quite the barbecue guru. Still, long work hours meant that we didn’t get many chances to eat home-cooked meals. Fast food, microwavable food, hot dogs, or pretty much anything that came pre-made in a bag or a box were about all my parents had the energy to prepare at the end of the day.

Of course, that was at a time when we didn’t know as much as we now know about the dangers of those foods. That was a time when we satisfied our taste buds without considering saturated fats and their effects on our cardiovascular systems. Getting to the point, growing up on those foods had long-term adverse effects on my health. Food allergies, skin rashes, lethargy, and a long list of other symptoms made me take a long, hard look at my eating habits – habits which needed to be broken.

I realized that it was time to start eating more fresh foods. I cut out the junk foods and replaced them with healthier options. It seemed easy enough until I found myself with the same kind of busy lifestyle my parents found themselves facing all those years before. How could I still cut up fresh vegetables and spend hours chopping and preparing foods for sauces and stews and salads? Eventually, I realized the power of the blender.

Blending my foods in advance meant that I could prepare large batches of sauce, salsa, and hummus and freeze them for later. Plus, blending was a lot faster than my usual method of hand-chopping everything. Then, I realized that I could replace certain meals with smoothies. Instead of stressing about finding a way to make a fast, healthy meal or giving in and buying takeout, I was able to place a bunch of healthy ingredients in my blender, mix it up, and carry on with my work.

My struggle and my discoveries are why I want to make it easier for other people to find a blender. I know I made it sound rather easy – “Oh I just found a blender and away I went!” – but that wasn’t exactly the case. It took a while to find a reliable blender with the options I needed. In fact, I now own two blenders – one for family use and creating large portions, and one for my on-the-go daily smoothies.
